Clear Away Falling Snow

Snow is beautiful but can be hazardous to the pond.  If snow builds up, it can prevent sunlight from shining into the pond, which prevents plants from oxygenating the water.

Snow can also disguise the pond’s location, making it dangerous for children and animals. They could break the ice and fall into the pond. It’s essential to keep an opening in the ice (and be sure to watch that the snow doesn’t block the hole).
